Meet the 2023 Ford Edge in Decatur TX!
The Ford Edge is a midsize crossover SUV with two rows of seats. This commute-worthy vehicle offers a choice of engines and a comfortable ride. For the 2023 model year, the Edge ST gains a new optional appearance package, and the SE and SEL have a new standard silver honeycomb grille. Here’s a look at some of the details of the 2023 Ford Edge.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Edge SE comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, active grille shutters, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. Step up to the SEL for upgraded 18-inch wheels and the option for a power liftgate, or choose the ST-Line, and you’ll get black exterior trim elements, 20-inch gloss black wheels, and body-colored bumpers. The Titanium trim comes with 19-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, and heated side exterior mirrors, and the sporty ST has 20-inch black-painted wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and black exterior trim elements.
Engine (Power)
Power for most of the Edge models comes from a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 250 horsepower. The ST has a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 under its hood that generates 335 horsepower. The base engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the ST uses a seven-speed automatic. All models come standard with all-wheel drive. When equipped with the tow package, the Edge can pull up to 3,500 pounds.
Performance
Both engines provide the Edge with plenty of power. The four-cylinder offers a good combination of power and fuel efficiency, and the V-6 for the ST, with its sport-tuned suspension and optional performance brakes, makes the ride more engaging. The Edge, in any form, feels agile when taking tight corners, and the steering is responsive for a confident feel behind the wheel. The Edge trims with the four-cylinder engine will get up to 29 mpg on the highway, and the ST with the V-6 will get up to 25 mpg.
Interior
Inside, there’s room for up to five people in the Edge. The base SE has cloth upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control. The SEL upgrades to synthetic leather upholstery, and it adds power-adjustable and heated front seats. The ST-Line has sporty red accent stitching in the cabin, and the Titanium adds luxury with leather upholstery and the option for heated rear seats and ventilated front seats. Technology in the Edge starts with a 12-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The SEL upgrades to a nine-speaker stereo and offers the Convenience Package with wireless charging and a 110-volt power outlet.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Ford Edge comes with Ford Co-Pilot360. This group of safety systems includes automatic high-beam headlights, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and a forward collision warning system with automatic braking. Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist + is optional for the SEL. It adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. Bumping up to the Titanium adds front parking sensors and offers the Lux Package with Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+, a front-facing camera, and an automated parking system.
